The 2008 Nintendo DS game Mushishi: Amefuru Sato (Mushishi: The Rainy Village) is now fully playable in English, thanks to a fan translation released by Phantom.
Based on the Mushishi manga and anime series, the game follows a young apprentice living in a quiet rural village. Players spend their time fishing, gathering, helping villagers, and encountering mysterious lifeforms called mushi. These ethereal creatures are central to the game’s supernatural themes.
Featuring hand-drawn visuals, a calming soundtrack, and a relaxed pace, Mushishi: Amefuru Sato evokes the feel of titles like Animal Crossing or Boku no Natsuyasumi, but with a more mature, contemplative tone.
No prior knowledge of the Mushishi series is required, as the story unfolds like a standalone episode of the anime.
The English patch covers all in-game text and menus, including name entry and save compatibility.|
