Super Station One Now Reading PS1 Discs Directly – Early Tests Show Promising Results

Taki Udon recently shared early testing results of the Super Station One reading PlayStation 1 data directly from discs with no need for prior dumping.

While the results are promising, he notes that copying games to an SD card or SSD remains the preferred option, especially when it comes to random access speeds and overall performance. Still, the ability to load games directly from physical discs is a welcome feature, especially for preservationists and collectors who prefer using original media.

This kind of functionality may not replace full dumping and SD storage workflows, but it adds versatility to the Super Station One’s feature set and opens up new use cases for those with large disc collections.
