This is a fan-made hack of Mega Man X, created purely for fun. It explores an alternate reality where Protoman survives into the 21XX era. As a big fan of the Mega Man X series this romhack really got me excited.
Overview
Mega Man X1: Proto Edition is more than a character swap, it imagines a world where Protoman’s energy core is repaired, allowing him to fight on in the X timeline. With this latest update, version 1.2.2 builds upon the already feature-rich hack with enhanced visuals, improved balancing, and a more refined presentation.
Originally intended to end with version 1.2, this new update was born out of renewed motivation and technical improvements, making it the most complete release yet.
