A fan-made port of the 1990 arcade classic Super Pang is currently in development, bringing the frantic bubble-popping gameplay to 16-bit Sega hardware.
This early alpha, titled MegaPang, is already playable and features:
- Tour Mode with 6 levels
- Panic Mode
- 2-player support
- Classic enemies like Crocodiles, Demons, and Birds
- Power-ups including the Machine Gun, Double Hook, and Protection
- Support for real hardware and emulators (tested on BlastEm)
While the gameplay is still under construction, it already offers a faithful recreation of the arcade’s mechanics, visuals, and challenge. Some elements and music are still being worked on — and the developer welcomes any help recreating the soundtrack for the YM2612 chip.
This project is a true labor of love for arcade and Mega Drive fans alike. Feedback is encouraged as development continues.
Note: Expect bugs and unfinished features in this alpha version.
