Developer Sergei Smirnov has announced Cubix, billed as the first-ever 3D platformer for the ZX Spectrum. The game features mind-bending labyrinths, logical puzzles, six unique levels, unique gameplay mechanics, and responsive controls — an impressive achievement for the classic 8-bit computer.
Cubix is an entry in YRGB, an international retro game development competition held under the auspices of Yandex. Participants create new titles for the ZX Spectrum, with a jury of gaming industry professionals awarding the most notable projects with cash prizes.
Smirnov is currently seeking votes for the project on yrgb.org.
