ShaderGlass 1.2 Released – Support for Webcams and Capture Cards (plus even more shaders)

Misc

I first came across ShaderGlass exactly two years ago, and I was gobsmacked at how versatile this piece of software is. It essentially provides you with an overlay that can sit over any app or game you have running on your PC, applying real-time shaders—and there are hundreds of them. Now, with the v1.2 update, it has added support for webcams and capture cards. This means you can add a 1980s VHS filter to your work Teams meeting. The software is free and open-source, so definitely give it a try. You can move the overlay window around in real-time, and anything under it will display the chosen effects, or you can add it as a full-screen shader. I think it’s so good that if you try this, you’ll come to realise it’s the software equivalent of hardware upscalers.
