Halcyon is the name, jumping and shooting things is the game. If you’ve ever played Blaster Master then this will instantly appeal to you. If you haven’t then you’re missing out, it’s a platform tank based Run n Gun game that has a very unique style and feel to it.
Best of all it’s in development for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), so yes, it means when complete, we can play this on our original hardware or our favourite FPGA gaming devices such as the MiSTer or Analogue Pocket, or even a software emulator. It’s being worked on by a solo developer by the name of a nathantolbert and they’ve shared a gameplay gif with the world over on X.
This looks great! Can’t wait to play this.
This was originally supposed to release in 2020. I don’t know why it’s taking so long. Maybe the project has been on hiatus? I have no idea. But I wouldn’t expect it soon.
