PPSSPP 1.19.3 – Bugfix Update Released

Emulators

The PSP emulator PPSSPP has received a new update, bringing it to version 1.19.3. This release is a follow-up to the major 1.19 update, focusing on fixing issues that surfaced after the big changes.

What’s New in 1.19.3

Version 1.19 introduced a significant improvement to Atrac3+ music playback, which boosted compatibility across many games. However, this change unintentionally broke playback for certain Atrac3 (non +) audio files, especially those generated by tools outside of official PSP development.

This caused problems in popular game modifications — for example:

  • A Crazy Taxi mod that restores the original Dreamcast soundtrack.
  • Modified football (soccer) titles where music and commentary were missing.

The new update corrects this issue by properly skipping the broken first packet, restoring audio playback as intended. In addition, several other minor bugs that slipped through previous testing have now been resolved.

PPSSPP 1.19.3 is already rolling out on Google Play and the App Store (with updates staged over the coming week). Downloads for Windows, macOS, Linux, and other platforms are also available on the official PPSSPP site.
