Zaparoo is receiving a quality-of-life update aimed at improving compatibility for users with tty2oled devices. The platform, known for its NFC-powered plug-and-play system that launches games on setups like MiSTer, Batocera, and Windows, continues to expand its functionality for a wide range of retro gaming environments.
For those unfamiliar, tty2oled is a small hardware project that uses an OLED display to show game covers or system logos on connected devices. While it has been popular with MiSTer setups, it has also been known to conflict with Zaparoo in certain configurations.
The upcoming update introduces a new driver that turns stock tty2oled units into a plug-and-play solution, eliminating previous conflicts. This driver is also cross-platform, allowing tty2oled to work seamlessly with all supported Zaparoo platforms, including Batocera and Windows.
The update is expected to roll out soon, further enhancing compatibility and ease of use for Zaparoo users.
This sounds so cool, I’ve been thinking about setting up the Zaparoo for a spell.
Anyone have UK links for the reader, cards & sticker printing and maybe tty2oled too?
I’m not sure where to start 🤔
