The Cult of Blood is a new action-platformer in development for the Game Boy Color by Dancing Mad Studios. The story is based on J. Sheridan LeFanu’s classic vampire tale Carmilla, while the gameplay takes clear inspiration from Castlevania. Players take on the role of Isaia Lecardi, armed with the Spear of Destiny, battling through minions and bosses to end the reign of a bloodthirsty vampire.
The project is still in active development, with a demo already available on Itch.io. Alongside Dancing Mad Studios, the project features music by Retro Asobi and sound effects by Coffee ‘Valen’ Bat. The team is also running a Kickstarter campaign to help bring the full version to life: The Cult of Blood Kickstarter.
