A few months ago, a post on X showcased a large collection of never-before-seen prototypes and dev kits, featuring numerous Sega and Nintendo items. Time Extension has an excellent article that provides updated facts.

This article details a legal dispute between a private seller and Sega concerning the recovery of confidential Nintendo development kits. The seller, who operates a resale business, lawfully acquired the kits from a removals worker during an office clearance at Sega’s former UK headquarters. The seller alleges that ten City of London Police officers later raided his property and seized the items, leading to his arrest for money laundering. He claims the raid was orchestrated by Sega to retrieve the negligently disposed-of items and that the search warrant was defective. The seller has sent legal letters to Sega, but the company has not responded. He fears the kits may have been destroyed and is concerned about the legality of the warrant process.
