Game Boy Games Running on Pokémon Mini

Emulators Game Boy

A new project called GB mini brings Game Boy titles to the Pokémon mini handheld. Using the PM2040 flash cart, which is powered by an RP2040 microcontroller, the emulator already supports save files and even takes advantage of the system’s built-in rumble feature. This means that compatible rumble titles can make use of the Pokémon mini’s vibration feedback. The PM2040 allows re-flashable storage and flexible homebrew development, making it a big step forward for this tiny system. The next step in development is audio emulation, which could make this an even more impressive way to experience classic Game Boy titles on Nintendo’s smallest handheld.
