RoboCop *Sexting* Edition for Sega Mega Drive/Genesis
Yes, the Mega Drive just keeps getting all the love. This time it’s one of the best arcade games of all time: RoboCop, the 1988 classic by Data East.
The developer working on this is Monster Bath Games, and they’re doing it in their spare time as a fun project.
Be sure to pay particular attention to the soundtrack, as it sounds particularly “banging.” While most things look great in the video, the bullet number and pacing are an exception. Although the gun has the same sound effects as the arcade, the number of bullets and their spacing don’t match. However, this is a work in progress, and I anticipate this will be resolved in a future update.
There’s no doubt that this demo is a work of sheer talent. There’s no timeline for a release, but we’re happy to wait, as it’s a “freaking marvel” so far in what we’ve seen of the first stage.
If you wish to support the developer you can purchase their previous games on Steam. In particular Deathwish Enforcers Special Edition looks great, it reminds me of a cross between Sunset Riders and Rolling Thunder.
