A new arcade cabinet prototype has surfaced, catching the attention of arcade fans worldwide. Dubbed the Vewlix Lite, this compact take on the classic Taito Vewlix design was recently showcased at a trade event.
Developed by Tassei Denki with official permission from Taito Corporation, the unit is currently a functional prototype made for trade show demonstration and entertainment purposes only. It is not a retail product, at least, not yet.
The arcade community is already voicing interest in seeing the Vewlix Lite enter production, with fans encouraging Taito to consider making it widely available. With its smaller footprint while still keeping the iconic Vewlix look, it could become a popular option for collectors and home arcade setups.
Whether Taito decides to move forward remains to be seen, but the buzz around the Vewlix Lite shows there’s definitely demand.
