A new fan project called SGB2-Pokemon-Suite gives the Japanese Super Game Boy 2 a colorful Pokémon makeover. By applying a simple BPS patch to the Super Game Boy 2 (Japan).sfc ROM, you can replace the default borders and icons with Pokémon-themed artwork inspired by the first two generations of games.
The project features both new and re-used border designs, including vibrant frames showcasing Pikachu, Ash, and several familiar Pokémon. It was made possible thanks to the SGB2 Border Injector tool, and the patch is available through the project’s GitHub page.
