The fan-made sequel Altered Beast 2 – The Seven Depths of Hell has reached Alpha 4, now available on itch.io. Created by developer Fabiano Ferreira (fabianodigital), this ambitious project continues to expand the classic Sega series on real Mega Drive hardware.
The new build, released on October 18, 2025, refines gameplay, adds new animations, and includes improved transformations and boss encounters. Built using the Scorpion Engine, Altered Beast 2 stays faithful to the original’s mythological setting while introducing fresh visuals and enemies.
Still in development, Alpha 4 gives fans another glimpse into what could be the most impressive homebrew revival of a Sega classic in years.
