Hayaku! Island of Darkness channels classic NES energy with modern flair

Games

Pizia Studios is working on Hayaku! Island of Darkness, a retro-style Metroidvania heavily inspired by NES-era platformers like Mega Man. Players step into the role of Hayaki, a soldier from the Reikan organization sent to a mysterious island infested with strange creatures, where his missing brother may still be alive.

The game promises a large interconnected world filled with secrets, upgradeable weapons, and customizable Ride Armor parts that enhance combat and exploration. Its pixel-perfect visuals and energetic chiptune soundtrack aim to capture the look and feel of classic console adventures while offering modern gameplay refinements.

While no release date has been announced yet, Hayaku! Island of Darkness is shaping up to be a promising entry for fans of action-platformers. Players can add it to their Steam wishlist to stay updated on its upcoming launch.

  1. I love the art-style, colours and the music is quite cool too, this one I have to keep my eyes on.
This is one of those modern ‘retro-style’ games where if I play this I can almost cover a pixel with my finger on my display.
    And I love that! lol
