The Sega Saturn version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, originally released in Japan as Akumajou Dracula X: Gekka no Yasoukyoku on June 25, 1998, has received a major enhancement thanks to a new translation and optimization patch from the Meduza Team, led by Rafael Silva.
Based on their previous “Ultimate” release, this version delivers notable improvements to performance, visuals, and gameplay. CPU frequency has been boosted for smoother performance, and several graphical issues have been corrected, including missing sprites, flame and shield palette errors, and visual voids seen in some areas.
Additional tweaks include translucent effects for the clouds and Dracula’s window, updated teleport rooms that now show the current location, and a more challenging “Hard Mode” where enemies deal double damage.
For fans of the Saturn release, this patch brings the definitive way to experience Konami’s masterpiece on Sega’s 32-bit hardware.

This one unfortunately didn’t work on MiSTer for me. The dialog cuts in and out and sometimes even spits out the wrong lines. The version with the PSP script does work fine though. Hopefully they can work it out!
