Spyro the Dragon from the PlayStation One is being ported over to the Nintendo 64.
The homebrew developer Frogbull is well-known in the retro gaming community, particularly for working on “what-if” prototype ports and fan projects, mainly for the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast.
Frogbull’s notable homebrew projects and prototypes include:
- Shenmue: Back in Yokosuka (Sega Saturn): A significant homebrew project and submission to the SEGA Saturn 30th Anniversary Game Competition, featuring an isometric overworld and the fan-favorite forklift racing.
- Metal Gear Solid (Sega Saturn): A prototype/proof-of-concept demonstrating the game’s possibility on the Saturn.
- Final Fantasy VII (Sega Saturn): Another proof-of-concept prototype showing the Square RPG running on the Saturn.
- Crash Bandicoot (Sega Saturn): Teased with a demo build running on Saturn hardware.
- Star Wars: Dream of the Rebellion (Sega Dreamcast): A new project that started with a teaser, described as a simple SHMUP (Shoot ’em up) game in the style of Star Wars.
- Metal Gear Solid 2 (Sega Dreamcast): Teased as a project.
