The owner of ModRetro, Palmer Luckey, in an X post, shared some information about the upcoming M64 FPGA N64 console. Below are the points highlighted in the tweet, and above is the video that was embedded in it.
The ModRetro M64 hardware will be fully revealed on Black Friday November the 28th.
The reveal will include details on its features, colors, new controller, and cutting-edge AMD hardware.
Since the initial early bird pricing of $199 was launched earlier this year, the project has faced challenges like inflation, component shortages, and tariffs.
There was also initial uncertainty regarding manufacturing, specifically whether the FPGA design would be efficient and if the yield targets would be met.
The good news is that these uncertainties have been resolved.
ModRetro is able to maintain the $199 price point.
The $199 price will be offered not just for early signups, but also for Black Friday and afterward.
