Shadow Gangs Zero has successfully completed its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, securing roughly £108,554, more than double its original £40,000 target. The game returns as a 16 bit style prequel to the original Shadow Gangs, paying homage to classic action arcade titles and planned for platforms including Neo Geo, Sega Genesis and Mega Drive, Dreamcast, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Steam.
According to the developers, Shadow Gangs Zero aims to deliver longer levels, no time limits, health pickups, smoother animations, refined bonus stages and a more home console oriented gameplay style. The team also plans to take advantage of each platform’s strengths, offering enhancements such as improved colors, rumble support and special visual effects depending on the target system.
Development is ongoing and no release date has been announced yet. The strong Kickstarter result shows clear interest from both retro hardware collectors and modern console players who enjoy classic action games.

That video on the Kickstarter page is funny. The character at first has some shuriken throwing capabilites, but when he gets an upgrade and transform into a ninja he all of a sudden has a machine gun haha
