The original Contra Force for the NES has received an early NES-to-SNES port, with a first public beta now available. The project comes from developer infidelity, known for high-quality conversions that bring NES titles to SNES hardware.
This initial beta is fully playable from start to finish. The only notable omission at this stage is the orchestral DPCM samples used in the background music, which are planned to be converted to BRR samples in a future update.
Even in its current form, the port already highlights the advantages of the SNES, offering smoother presentation and expanded audio potential compared to the original NES release.
