A new emulator called CrankBoy lets Playdate owners play Game Boy games smoothly and in full speed. Created by deltabeard, it works on all Playdate models and automatically saves your progress, so you can pick up right where you left off.
You can adjust how games look and feel, even using the Playdate’s crank as a control option. CrankBoy also lets you store multiple save points, download cover art for your library, and keep all your games neatly in one place on the Playdate’s main menu.
There’s even support for game patches, letting you play fan-made versions or updates of classic titles without needing multiple copies of the same game.
