Epilogue Unveils SN Operator, A New Way to Preserve and Play SNES Cartridges

Emulation Devices

Epilogue has officially announced the SN Operator, a new hardware device aimed squarely at Super Nintendo fans who still value their original cartridges. Following the company’s existing Operator lineup, the SN Operator focuses on preservation first, while also making it easy to actually play those games in a modern environment.

The SN Operator allows users to preserve their physical SNES cartridges and then run those games directly from the cartridge using Epilogue’s own emulator. Rather than relying on pre dumped ROM collections, the idea here is to work from the original media, keeping things closer to the source while still benefiting from modern software conveniences.

On the software side, Epilogue confirms support for Windows, macOS, and Linux, making the SN Operator accessible across all major desktop platforms. This cross platform approach fits neatly with the growing interest in cartridge preservation and legitimate emulation workflows.

A limited Founder’s Edition will be available, with pre orders opening Tuesday, December 30 at 9 AM PT. Shipping is planned for April 2026, and the device will be sold exclusively through Epilogue’s own store.
