Finding Arcade Games is Now Easier on the MiSTer FPGA Thanks to the Community

MiSTer FPGA

I got into the MiSTer FPGA because of its Arcade Gaming side. I then found out it offers so much more, like my favorite consoles and computers too. But going back to the arcade side, a community member has been working hard on sorting out and creating a good way to access arcade games on your MiSTer. You can now search by year, genre, maker and lots more options too. It really does make browsing a much nicer experience. You still have the A-Z list in the main arcade folder, the new additions i speak of all sit in the “organized” folder. Make sure you check it out, and you’ll see the amount of work that has gone into it.

A special thanks to TheJesusFish, Toya on GitHub/Discord, theypsilon and all the developers that spend their time bring us these great cores.

If you want to see it running then check the video embedded below.

  1. theypsilon has blessed us with so many necessary things to the MiSTer ecosystem at this point it’s surreal – love how the organizer evolved over time

  2. What I really would like, is an easy way to explore _newly added_ cores. Not ones which are updated, but just new. Don’t know of a way to do that.
