Heavyweight MiSTer FPGA developer wickerwaka, also known as Martin Donlon, has added some more games to the TAITO F2 core.
To enjoy these new additions, you will need to have an understanding of the Japanese language, as the games are quiz-based. Although I cannot read or speak Japanese, I’m going to try them out later today, because some of them look awesome. In particular, Quiz H.Q., which is a Chase H.Q. quiz game, sounds so cool. Another game has cameos from other TAITO classics, such as The New Zealand Story and Operation Wolf. You can get them by running Update All.

Below is what wickerwaka posted on the MiSTer FPGA forum’s update and changelog thread.
“Arcade: Taito F2 20251027
This release adds the final games that this core will support. They are all Japanese-language Quiz games so they have gotten limited testing by me other than confirming that inputs work and they don’t have any obvious graphical glitches. The newly supported games are:
- Crayon Shinchan Orato Asobo
- Quiz Chikyu Bouei Gun
- Quiz Crayon Shinchan
- Quiz H.Q.
- Quiz Jinsei Gekijoh
- Quiz Quest – Hime to Yuusha no Monogatari
- Quiz Torimonochou
The following three games are unsupported and I do not plan on adding support for them. They contain unique hardware and I do not want to further complicate the core for them. If these games are really important to you for some reason, let me know and I will consider adding support.
- Yes/No Sinri Tokimeki Chart
- Yuuyu no Quiz de GO!GO!
- Mahjong Quest
The first code commit was February 24th so it has taken just over 8 months to get to this point. It has been a great learning experience and I am very happy with the quality and accuracy of the core. If you encounter any bugs or inaccuracies please report them on github or discord.
Enjoy!”
