The MiSTer FPGA pre-configured bundle with Aluminum Armor enclosure is back in stock. This bundle is aimed at users who want a complete, ready-to-use MiSTer setup without dealing with individual part selection, assembly, or initial configuration.
Each unit is fully pre-assembled and tested and is built around the original Terasic DE10-Nano FPGA board. Depending on the selected configuration, the bundle includes either the Analog Pro IO, Analog VGA, or IO Direct board, offering a wide range of video output options such as HDMI, RGB, YPbPr, S-Video, composite, or VGA. Certain configurations support simultaneous HDMI and analog output, making the system suitable for both modern displays and CRT setups.
The Aluminum Armor case is designed as a passively cooled enclosure, using thick aluminum walls to dissipate heat directly to the outside of the case. No fan is required, resulting in a completely silent setup with no moving parts and minimal dust buildup. According to the manufacturer, the system is suitable for 24/7 operation, with stable thermal performance across different cores. The DE10-Nano FPGA itself is rated for industrial use, with a maximum operating temperature of 100°C.
Included with the bundle are 128MB SDRAM modules (one or two depending on the chosen IO board), a USB hub with mounting bracket, power solution (USB-C or DC depending on configuration), and a preloaded microSD card containing the MiSTer operating system, open-source cores, filters, and related files sourced from public repositories. Higher-capacity microSD card options are also available.
It’s worth noting that cheaper MiSTer-compatible alternatives, such as the MiSTer Pi, QMTech-based setups, Super Station One, and MiSTer MultiSystem 2, are all solid options and offer the same functional MiSTer experience in terms of core compatibility and performance. This pre-configured bundle does not provide functional advantages over those systems.
Instead, this product is clearly aimed at users who specifically prefer an original Terasic DE10-Nano board, combined with a premium, passively cooled aluminum enclosure and a fully turnkey setup. For those users, it remains a convenient and polished option, while more budget-friendly solutions continue to offer excellent value within the MiSTer ecosystem.
