We are now starting Metal Game Solid Giveaway Number 4. Win yourself a brand new Reflex Adapt courtesy of MiSTer Addons. This is a giveaway I’m particularly fond of as I am a big fan of this product. You can use this with the MiSTer FPGA as well as the PC (Windows and Linux), with a variety of original controllers (SNES, MD, SMS, 3DO, full list below). For normal controller use, I prefer the Reflex Adapt over SNAC/SNAX, because it allows you to use any controller with any core as well as allowing me to control the menu. Both have their uses, advantages, and disadvantages, for example SNAC/SNAX lets you use original peripherals whereas the Reflex Adapt cannot do as many. In a nutshell both are excellent choices all dependant on your particular use case.
Entry is simple
- If you do not have a user account at metalgamesolid.com, please create one and leave a comment on this post stating what game controller you would use first, if you won the Reflex Adapt?
- Follow either Metal Game Solid on X or BlueSky (or both), Like, Repost the giveaway post on X or Blue Sky (linked below).

super nes
I’d use it first for an N64 controller because that controller seems to be very … unique. Even the new 8bitdo controller is a little iffy with its analog range. Might as well just use the OG for those games.
I’d use this with a SNES controller first for sure.
I think I might try it initially with my Saturn 3D Control Pad and the MiSTer Saturn core.
Wavebird don’t hate me
I’d dig out the NegCon from the garage, just to try it. Then probably stick one of the SNES controllers in 🙂
I would probably start with my original PlayStation 1 Dual Shock controllers
I would use my favorite third-party Saturn pad with PC and MiSTer for Saturn, CPS1/2, and Genesis.
Nintendo 64
Gotta break it in with N64—and share on any Analogue 3D delay posts 😉
Probably a saturn controller since they adapt better for arcade games
Nintendo 64 of course!
N64
FIrst thing would be a GameCube Pad for sure
PS 1 controller 👌
Got to be the Snes pad, the goat.
I would like to try it on a Dualshock Controller on MiSTer!!!
SNES controller, best for almost every system
I’d probably have to use the Saturn pad first. such a great controller!
I’d have to go with the SNES Honey Bee SF-3 controller as it was my favourite growing up!
Gotta go with the Saturn controller first! I’ve always felt like 2 of my face buttons are missing ever since all the controllers went with 4…
I would want to use the PS1 controller
GameCube
I’d totally use a PC engine controller!
DualShock
would be genesis for me!
I’d like to play with the OG SNES Famicon controller, I only play with the 8bit do one, which is amazing, but not quite the same thing, specially the triggers
Sega Saturn, for me, I`ll stick with the snac for my N64.
I’d buy a N64 controller for that because N64 will profit most from its “own” controller.
First I would like to use my Guncon.
I bought an Atari Jaguar controller a couple of months ago and I have been waiting to pick up a Reflex with a couple of different adapters. Winning this would be amazing, I’d be playing the Jaguar core using the Jaguar controller and sinking alot of tike into AvP!
Nintendo 64 for sure!
Krikz joyzz 6 button megadrive controller, by far my favourite retro controller
Gotta be SNES for me!
Atari jaguar
N64 easy, out of all the controllers it’s the one that feels the most necessary to match the core.
n64 and snes hard to pick one.
I would first use it with a PSOne PSX controller.
Nes controller
I would use my Xbox pc controller to emulate snes without latency. pretty cool.
My trusted Sega Mega Drive 6 button controller!
neGcon
very underrated controller for racing games!
My upgraded midnight blue N64 controller with a complete set of drumstix576 Galaxy buttons and the rocker gaming/tao renaissance 64 steel bowl and tao v4 stick!
I would start with Saturn controllers on Saturn core, I still have the legendary 6 button d pad controller and the analogue one as well.. This would be an amazing device to have.
I would use a Saturn pad, best dpad even to today’s standards.
Competition Pro joystick for the Amiga.
I would use my 3DO controller first as this amazing bit of kit is the first to support it!!
I always have issue with the sega saturn so I for sure would be using it for the saturn
Definitly the SNES controller as it’s good for so many retro consoles.
SNES
GunCon most definitely!
Genesis + Saturn!
SNES controller
SNES
Definitely my Saturn pad
