A long-lost piece of Resident Evil history has been recovered. Biohazard: The Operations, a Japan-exclusive mobile game originally released for the Fujitsu F904i flip phone, has been successfully brought back from obscurity thanks to the work of preservationist Yuvi.
To make the game playable again, Yuvi painstakingly recreated the original server and rebuilt the entire Spencer Mansion environment scene by scene, ensuring that this rare title can finally be experienced again after years of being considered lost.
Released in the mid-2000s during Japan’s booming keitai (flip phone) era, Biohazard: The Operations gave players a compact but atmospheric survival-horror experience. It ran exclusively on the Fujitsu F904i, a high-end 2007 model that featured a 3.1-inch display, 3G connectivity, and multimedia capabilities far ahead of its time. Because the game was tied to carrier services and server authentication, it became completely inaccessible once those services shut down, leaving only a handful of screenshots and incomplete information for years.
Now, thanks to extensive reverse-engineering and preservation efforts, the game is finally playable again. As an added bonus, Yuvi, together with SnowyAria and Shentok, developed a partial English patch to make the game more approachable for international fans. But the real achievement lies in the preservation and restoration of a unique, once-lost chapter of Resident Evil history.
