The fan-made project Mega Man X Innocent Impulse continues to evolve, with developers sharing fresh details on the upcoming version 0.3 update, the most ambitious build to date. Since the 0.2.3 release in September 2023, the team has been hard at work rebuilding much of the engine for a smoother, more stable experience and a more efficient development process moving forward.
Version 0.3 will introduce a host of new features destined for the final release. Chief among them is the Chips system, allowing players to tailor their gameplay style. There’s also a disk database inspired by Mega Man Zero and ZX, side quests, difficulty settings, and language options, further enriching the experience.
A new story area featuring the boss Blaze Beastleo headlines the update, accompanied by expanded world connections and two new VR stages, one starring the returning Bubble Crab.
While a 2025 release was originally targeted, the team now expects the update to arrive in 2026, ensuring development continues without crunch or cut features.
