πŸ’₯ Neon Inferno: A Retro Fusion of Run-and-Gun Action

Neon Inferno is a vibrant, retro-futuristic arcade shooter that stands out by dynamically fusing two distinct classic genres into a single, frantic experience. This design choice results in a game that feels both new and deeply nostalgic, appealing directly to fans of 16-bit and 32-bit action games, whether in the arcade or at home.

I’ve been playing Neon Inferno, and it has instantly become my favourite game. The pixel art, the colours, and the animation are second to none. The game combines titles like Contra/Metal Slug with the likes of Cabal/NAM-1975. Crucially, you don’t have separate set pieces of the two genres; they are combined into one, and it works amazingly well.

The developer, Zenovia Interactive, has done a cracking job in making this a modern classic. If, like me, you grew up in the arcades during the late 80s and early 90s, then this game should be a day-one purchase. As soon as you start the game, it feels like you are back in the arcade playing a game that feels like a blockbuster movie. It’s the type of game that, the more you play, the better you get and the more of an art it looks as you slice and shoot your way through waves of enemies and massive bosses.

You purchase Neon Inferno via Steam.
