Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a modern revival of the legendary action series, is out now as of July 31, 2025. Developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Dotemu under license from Koei Tecmo, the game blends fast-paced, retro-inspired combat with polished visuals and refined mechanics.
Players take on the role of Kenji Mozu, a young ninja defending Hayabusa Village from demonic invaders. When he merges souls with Kumori, a rival kunoichi from the Black Spider Clan, he gains access to powerful ranged abilities and a dual-character combat system. Key features include the fast “Guillotine Boost” movement, a “Hypercharge” power mode, and ranked levels filled with secrets.
The game has received strong praise for its tight controls, challenging but fair difficulty, and authentic Ninja Gaiden feel. Though relatively short, Ragebound offers plenty of replay value through hidden content and performance rankings.
