SNK has officially launched the first entry in its newly announced NEOGEO Premium Selection series, and it’s a big one: Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers. Originally released in arcades in 1998, the classic 2D fighter has made its way to Steam with a range of modern upgrades.
This new version keeps the gameplay just as fans remember, but adds some modern touches. The release features rollback netcode for smoother online matches, online lobbies with support for up to nine players, and still retains the faithful arcade-style experience that made the original a standout.
SNK revealed the surprise release during a live stage presentation, confirming the game is available starting today. With this launch, fans now have a clearer picture of what to expect from the NEOGEO Premium Selection: classic arcade hits, upgraded for today’s standards while staying true to their roots.
