A brand-new fan project by JHDev2006, Super Mario Bros. Remastered reimagines the original NES classic while adding a wealth of new features. Built in Godot, the game recreates Super Mario Bros., The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. Special, and All Night Nippon: Super Mario Bros. from the ground up.
The project includes new levels, custom game modes, improved physics, widescreen and ultrawide resolution support, resource packs for customizing graphics and sound, support for custom characters, and even a full level editor. Sharing is encouraged too, with integration through Level Share Square.
The project is fully open-source and available now for Windows and Linux via GitHub. To play, you’ll need an original Super Mario Bros. NES ROM, as the game does not include Nintendo’s original assets.
