Songbird Productions has opened pre-orders for Wings of Death on the Atari Jaguar, bringing a cult favorite shooter from the Atari ST and Amiga to Atari’s 64-bit console. The port is handled by Marc Rosocha of Eclipse Software, the original developer.
Originally released in 1990, Wings of Death is a vertical shoot-’em-up known for its fantasy-inspired setting, where players transform into different creatures while battling waves of enemies. The Jaguar release preserves the fast-paced action while giving fans another way to experience this classic.
Editions and Pricing
Two physical editions are available through Songbird’s store:
- Standard Edition – priced at $99.95, with a classic black cartridge shell and packaging.
- Limited Edition – priced at $129.95, featuring a clear cartridge shell, special packaging, and the buyer’s name printed in the manual. This version is capped at only 50 copies.
Once seen as a flop, the Jaguar has since found a second life among collectors and homebrew fans and releases like Wings of Death show it still has surprises in store.
