A brand new NES ROM hack has landed, combining the classic puzzle-platformer Lode Runner with the iconic world of Minecraft. Released by SuperScuud89DS, this hack swaps out the original graphics for a blocky Minecraft theme, putting players in control of Steve as he digs, climbs, and outsmarts enemies that have now been replaced with zombies.
The hack stays true to the original Lode Runner gameplay but adds a fresh layer of charm with its minecraft-inspired sprites. Special thanks go to Weegee Doll and BunnyEars22 from The Spriters Resource for the sprite work that makes this crossover possible.
The patch is based on the U.S. version of Lode Runner (NES) and works on standard emulators or original hardware through flashcarts. It’s purely a graphics hack, so no special setup is required.
