Ranma ½ Kart 64 Gives Mario Kart 64 an Anime Makeover With Spanish Voices

Romhacks N64

Ranma ½ Kart 64 is a ROM hack created by Arian Ventura that reimagines Mario Kart 64 through the lens of the classic anime series Ranma ½. Rather than changing how the game plays, the project focuses on transforming its identity, turning the familiar kart racer into a crossover experience that feels firmly rooted in the Ranma universe.

The hack introduces eight fully playable characters inspired by Ranma ½, joined by two guest characters from Urusei Yatsura and a surprise referee appearance referencing Neon Genesis Evangelion. All character dialogue and voices have been completely replaced, with the entire game translated into Spanish and supported by Latin American Spanish voice acting, giving the hack a strong regional identity rarely seen in Nintendo 64 projects.

Beyond the roster and audio, nearly every visual element has been touched up. Title screens and menus have been redesigned, the character select screen has been reworked, tracks and billboards have been renamed, and textures across the game have been adjusted to better match the Ranma ½ theme. Despite these extensive changes, the original Mario Kart 64 mechanics remain intact. The hack does require the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak, using the full 8MB of system memory to support its added content and enhancements.
