The Sega Saturn cult classic Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru, better known to Western fans as Psychic Killer Taromaru, has finally received an English patch. This release updates the game’s menus, UI, and title screen while also offering an optional version with English voice narration for the opening and ending sequences.
Originally launched in Japan in 1997, Taromaru is a fast-paced side-scrolling action game blending swordplay, platforming, and ally recruitment mechanics. Long praised for its frantic gameplay and stunning sprite work, it’s been one of the most sought-after Saturn exclusives for years.
The patch is the result of collaboration within the Sega Saturn community, with Exxistance, Duralumin, TeDNeo, and zeed64 handling translation, testing, and art updates, while experts like Malenko, Derek “ateam” Pascarella, Knight0fDragon, and paulmet provided tools, tutorials, and technical support. Their work ensures this piece of Saturn history is now far more accessible to English-speaking players.
