A new fan translation patch has arrived for Viewpoint 2064, the unreleased Nintendo 64 sequel to Sammy Corp’s Neo Geo shooter. Developed by Sammy and Racdym, the game switches the original’s isometric 2D look for a fully 3D presentation, while still restricting movement to a horizontal 2D plane. A lock-on system lets players target enemies outside their firing line, giving the prototype a unique hybrid arcade style.
The patch targets the recently released 1999/4/13 master build, which is believed to represent the game’s final or near-final state before cancellation. Cinematics and Rumble Pak messages are now fully translated into English, and all five endings, the epilogue, and the credits can be viewed properly. The patch does not fix any of the game’s existing bugs, so players should expect the same roughness present in the original prototype.
