EverDrive Update Fixes Analogue 3D Compatibility Issues, With OS V3.10 Arriving Shortly After

Misc

Krikzz has released a new update for the EverDrive lineup that resolves the major compatibility issues Analogue 3D owners were experiencing with certain flash carts. The update focuses on the EverDrive X5 and X7 models, which failed to boot for many users on the FPGA based console.

The new firmware, OS V3.09, fixes this problem, but there is an important catch. Existing EverDrive units require a new bootloader, and installing it can only be done using an original Nintendo 64 console. EverDrive X5 and X7 cartridges produced from now on will ship with this updated bootloader already installed.

It is also worth noting that OS V3.10 was released shortly after, bringing additional refinements following community feedback.

Even with these updates, not every EverDrive variant is fully compatible with the Analogue 3D. Krikzz explains that some models may still fail to operate, and the only alternative fix is a hardware level modification involving a 1K pulldown resistor on cartridge pin AD7. This is something Analogue would need to address on their side. Krikzz adds that there is still hope Analogue might implement its own fix so users without an original N64 can run flash carts using older bootloaders.

It is further noted that games loaded via flash carts may not work with all of the Analogue 3D’s overclocking features.
