Mum! There’s an ATARI in My Watch

Misc Atari

Although my favourite era of gaming came a few years later, I did experience the ATARI 2600. That black joystick with that one district red button was mind-blowing at the time. I was very young when the 2600 was released and did not own the system, but instead played it at around a family friends house. This was indeed one of my earliest video gaming memories. The games that I really liked were River Raid, Combat (great 2 player versus) and Spider-Man (not that great, but I was a kid and this was Spider-Man).

Anyway let’s talk about this watch. If you like the ATARI 2600 then this night be the time-piece for you. It comes with four games, which are Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, and Super Breakout. I don’t know how good the emulation is, but this is more of a fashion accessory as opposed to a hardcore gaming device. You can look even cooler with changeable wrist straps. The crown and buttons have been customised to work as a paddle controller. A fitness tracker will also track your steps and heartbeat. All in all it seems like a decent device from everything that has been described. You can check out the ATARI store page for yourself for more information.

    1. I guess it depends how much you love the 2600. Me personally, I stopped wearing a watch from when I got a mobile phone.

  1. I have the old Nintendo watches, Mario Bros. and Tetris hanging on my wall, as they don’t fit my wrist; they were made for kids. This Atari watch seems like it’s made for the big kids – can’t wait to get one
