Nintendo used today’s September Direct to reveal The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a direct follow-up to 2023’s blockbuster Super Mario Bros. Movie. Once again produced by Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal Pictures, the film will reunite directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic alongside the returning voice cast, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser.
The new adventure is set to launch in theaters on April 3, 2026, and will take inspiration from the beloved Super Mario Galaxy games. While plot details remain under wraps, fans can expect plenty of cosmic settings and familiar faces from the Wii classic.
With the success of the first film, Nintendo is aiming to expand Mario’s cinematic universe even further — this time on a galactic scale.
