The next Zaparoo release will introduce a new reader driver capable of recognizing almost any mass storage device as a token. This means that SD cards, USB sticks, and external drives will soon function similarly to NFC cards, allowing users to launch games or media automatically when plugged in.
In a recent demo, developer Wizzo showcased the feature by connecting a USB stick that launches a random Genesis game each time it’s inserted. While the initial implementation uses a simple text file to define what should launch, Wizzo hinted that future versions might even allow the executable or game file to reside directly on the storage device itself.
