Zaparoo App v1.10.1 Adds Online Sync, OTA Updates and NFC Fixes

Misc

Zaparoo App v1.10.1 has been released, introducing a set of quality-of-life improvements alongside a new optional online layer. The update adds Zaparoo Online accounts, allowing Pro purchases to sync across multiple devices and granting automatic Pro access to Patreon supporters. The feature is entirely optional and aimed at covering functionality that is difficult to handle in a strictly local setup.

Another major change is the introduction of over-the-air updates. Many updates, including UI adjustments, translations, and smaller feature additions, can now be delivered without waiting for app store approval, provided no new native code or permissions are required. These updates download in the background and apply the next time the app is launched, with code signing and automatic rollback in place for safety.

Android users in particular benefit from improved NFC handling. Background NFC support now allows Zaparoo cards to launch the app even when it is closed, offline NFC writing has been fixed, and unformatted tags are automatically prepared before writing. The update also adds local network device discovery for Zaparoo Core systems, alongside usability improvements such as opt-in crash reporting, easier log sharing, better handling of duplicate game names, refined shake detection, and full IPv6 support. Lead developer wizzo notes that Android users who lose Pro access after updating can restore purchases from settings or contact support directly if needed.
