Zaparoo Core v2.9.1 is now available as a patch release, concentrating on reliability improvements and a wide range of bug fixes across supported platforms.
This update introduces a switch to Zaparoo’s own log upload service at logs.zaparoo.org, replacing termbin. Media scanner lazy loading improves resume times on large libraries, and the MQTT publisher now retries connections in the background instead of blocking startup. MiSTer users also benefit from offline arcade game lookups on first boot thanks to an embedded ArcadeDB fallback. In addition, structured GitHub issue forms have been added for clearer bug reports, feature requests, and questions.
The fix list is extensive. MiSTer deadlocks when displaying overlays during active media have been resolved, PN532 reconnection issues have been addressed, and duplicate token scans caused by reader disconnects are fixed. Several indexing and launcher-related problems have also been corrected, including tag associations being wiped, platform scanners interfering with other launchers, and generic launchers intercepting more specific ones.
Overall, v2.9.1 is a strong maintenance update that tightens stability and improves day-to-day reliability across the entire Zaparoo ecosystem.
