Check out this arcade stick from Pixel Memories. We’ve seen nothing like it before, simply put, it’s a modular piece of video gaming art.
Key Features:
- Modular and Ambidextrous Design: The stick utilizes a modular design and is described as an “ambidextrous mix,” allowing for both left-handed and right-handed play.
- Integrated Diorama: A standout feature is the magnetic acrylic back plate, which houses an in-built 16-bit 3D printed diorama. The featured stick is themed after Yoshi’s Island, with the diorama containing scenes from the game.
- NFC Game Launching: The stick includes a detachable leather Game Boy cart slot that accommodates Zaparoo-compatible NFC cards/tokens. This feature allows users to launch games or frontends like Batocera directly on a connected device, such as a MiSTer.
- Portability: An additional attachment allows a Nintendo Switch or tablet/screen to be mounted directly onto the arcade stick for play on the go.
- Hardware: The device is powered by a GP 2040 CE breakout board and features Crown/Samduck clicky buttons and a J-LX lever.
