Originally a Japan-exclusive mobile game from 2011, the title was once considered “lost media” due to the discontinuation of the legacy mobile platforms it inhabited.
From Preservation to Translation
The journey to this release began in the summer of 2024 when the preservation group Keitai Archive successfully recovered the game’s data. Following this recovery, community member Penguinstrain led a dedicated effort to localize the experience for Western players.
The translation is described as a high-quality localization, matching the polish of an official Capcom release. The project includes:
- Complete Menu Translation: All UI elements and navigation text are fully translated.
- Item & Skill Descriptions: Critical gameplay mechanics and puzzle power-ups are now readable in English.
- Localized Graphics: The game’s original Japanese logo and several environmental assets have been modified to reflect the English title.

Rockman: The Puzzle Battle is a tile-matching puzzle game with RPG elements. Players take on the role of Mega Man as he battles classic Robot Masters through puzzle-based combat. To ensure the game remains playable on modern hardware, the translation is designed to run via the Keitai World Launcher, a specialized emulator for Japanese mobile games.
